S3EB, Building Automation Division, Bouygues Construction Grand Ouest, specializes in information technology and electronics applied to the building industry.

As anintegrator and system designer, we work in Building Management Systems (BMS), low-currents systems, electronics, and software development.

We support construction decision-makers in optimizing the management, maintenance, and monitoring of buildings in order to maximize energy savings and ensure the long-term profitability of systems.

Our products are powerful tools for facility managers, optimizing infrastructure maintenance and performance.

Our history in a few key dates

Since the 1980s, S3EB has been supporting the evolution of connected buildings. From Building Management Systems (BMS) to interoperable Building Operating Systems (BOS), The company has always anticipated major technological changes.

1980s
It all began with Jean-Louis Baron, a young engineer with a passion for computers. Using an Apple II, Jean-Louis designed a prototype home automation system. With the support of José Dersy, CEO of Quille, Nestor was born, the first French home automation system. At a time when there was no internet or smartphones, controlling your home via Minitel was a real revolution.

1990s
Under the leadership of René Jacquot, then CEO of Quille,S3EB was created and entrusted to Jean-Louis Baron. The company innovated with robust building management systems and contributed to the first standards (Batibus, LonWorks) alongside players such as EDF, Schneider, and Somfy.

The S3EB logo from 1990 to 2020 pays tribute to Apple, where development began, by incorporating the rainbow from the famous apple brand's logo at the time.

Constant evolution

2000s
The Niagara era begins. Under the leadership of David Van Den Noortgaete, IT manager, S3EB becomes a pioneer in France in Tridium controllers and recently obtained « Niagara Developer » certification.

Since 2008
S3EB joined Bouygues Bâtiment Grand Ouest while retaining its identity. In 2019, when Jean-Louis Baron retired, management was handed over to David Van Den Noortgaete, who continues to uphold the company's core values: passion, innovation, and expertise..

Today, our growth is based on four pillars :
